Contact Segments and Segment Groups

To create a segment, you need to go to the contacts section and by clicking on the list which you intend to segment, go to the drop-down "manage list" and follow the steps below:

1. Click on the “New Segment” button.

2. Add the name of the segment you want to create and click "Save":

3. Once the new segment has been created, click on the "Edit segment" button:

4. A new window will open, where you can configure the filters for the segment (to do this, click on "Add filter").

5. Select the parameter by which you want to filter. 6. Next, you can choose the conditions that the previously selected parameter must meet. To achieve this, use the drop-down lists provided.

7. To finish, click the "Save and apply" button:

Once the segment is created, MDirector will show you how many contacts from that list meet the characteristics required by the filter:

Create a segment with multiple filters (Y)

You can create a segment with multiple filters. However, it is important to bear in mind that adding multiple filters will show only those contacts that meet all the characteristics for all the filters.

For example,

If you want to filter all women based in NYC:

Create segment groups (O).

You  also have the option of joining different segments in the same group of segments. To achieve this, use the same "Manage List" drop-down option and click on "New Segment group".

Next, you'll need to name the Segment Group and click "Save."

Next, you just need to add the corresponding segments by clicking on "Add segment":

To finish, click on "Add segments"

In this case, the segment group will filter all the women on your list and all the people from NYC:

When you clic on "Save and Apply" you'll be able to see how many contacts are featured in each of the segments:
