What are the entry points of a Marketing Automation flow?

Josep Martí

The entry points of a Marketing Automation flow in MDirector are the conditions that trigger the start of an automated sequence. In other words, when a contact meets any of these criteria, they automatically enter the flow you’ve configured. The available entry points are as follows:

  • Contact is added to a list: the contact is added to a specific list. For example, when they subscribe to a newsletter.
  • Contact opens an email: the flow is triggered when the contact opens an email.
  • Contact is tagged: the contact receives a specific tag.
  • Contact clicks on a link in an email: the contact clicks a specific link or any link within a sent email.
  • Contact meets a date criterion: for example, on their birthday, subscription anniversary, etc.
  • Contact is modified in a list: some of the contact’s data within a list is updated, such as country, last name, or postal code, among others.
  • Contact receives an email: a specific email has been sent to them as part of another action or automation.
  • Contact receives an SMS: a specific text message has been sent to them as part of another action or automation.
