What do you need?
- Have your own domain.
- Access to the hosting control panel of your domain to give instructions.
- Access your MDirector account and indicate which domain you will use for your landing.
Follow these steps
- Access your hosting or hosting provider and create a CNAME record
- Log into your hosting account and access the control panel. Select the domain that you want to link to your landing.
- Find the page to update the DNS records of your domain. The steps to set up the CNAME records depend on your domain hosting service, follow the instructions of your provider.
It is possible that this page may be called DNS Management, Name Server Management or Advanced Settings.
Add a new CNAME record, which is an entry to the Domain Name System that indicates where your web pages are located.
- Enter a value for your subdomain in the corresponding field according to your needs. For example, if you have a subdomain like “landing.domain.com” enter this information or if you use a root domain like “www.domains.com” enter this information.
In the field CNAME write the name pages.mdirector.com and save changes.
If you want your landings to use a secure connection (HTTPS), you must configure the CNAME with secure.mdirector-pages.com and send the corresponding SSL certificate to soporte@mdirector.com.
In this link, you will find how to obtain the certificate and what information you need to send us: https://mdtr.io/rFsAD. Please remember that this step must be completed before publishing a landing on that domain or subdomain.
And now just wait for your DNS to be generated. This can take anything from a few minutes up to several hours, depending on your provider.
- Access MDirector
Finally, you need to indicate the direction (URL) that you wish to appear in the landing.
- Log into MDirector.
- Click on Domain section and click in the button Add Domain
- Add the URL created earlier
Remember: You will know the domain is set up when you see the confirmation sign (in Green) in the Domain section.
Once the configuration is done, the URL of the specific landing will be changed, you can do this by clicking in the button Change URL.
