What are email client tests

Email client tests are an email preview tool that provides a more accurate visualization based on key variables such as the email client (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.), the device, and the browser used to open the email.

This tool is particularly important when there is a high disparity in these variables among campaign recipients, especially regarding email clients. It’s crucial to understand that we are not designing for the web, but rather for email clients, each with its own "rules" and compatibility constraints. Additionally, these clients operate with different versions. It is quite common for an email template that displays perfectly across all versions of Gmail to not render correctly in certain versions of Outlook, for example.

How to use email client tests in MDirector

To use email client tests in MDirector, go to step 4 (Test) when creating an email send-out. There, you will find them under "Tests in email clients." To generate previews, first, click the "Start Tests" button. After a few seconds, once they have loaded, you can click on any of the titles in the Devices, Clients, and Browsers column to view them.

How to activate email client tests in my account

Email client tests are initially available only for the MD Total plan. However, if you have any other plan, you can purchase them as an additional feature for your account. To do this, go to step 4 of the email send-out creation process, where they would normally appear, and instead, you will find a button to purchase them. Click on it, and our team will contact you to inform you of the cost and process the activation as soon as possible.
