How to use Zapier to add contacts from a landing page to lists of different subaccounts

Giulia Landis

Things to Consider Before Starting:

  • The user creating the integration should not be deactivated in the future, as doing so will result in losing the connection.
  • This user must have a registered Zapier account, whether free or paid.
  • The MDirector user must have access to all subaccounts to be connected, and these subaccounts must have API access.
  • Each subaccount must have a destination contact list.

Procedure:

1. Connect to Zapier from the subaccount where the landing page was created through the Integrations section

Note: Do not connect directly from Zapier, as this will not allow the workflow to function properly.

2. Once connected to Zapier, create a new Zap

3. Set the ZAP flow's input to "New Lead Added in MDirector"

In this step, you need to select:

    • The subaccount to which the landing page belongs.
    • The landing page you want to connect.
    • Perform a connection test.

Note: It is important that there is already a lead registered on the corresponding landing page for the system to take as an example.

4. Add "Filter by Zapier" in the next step of the flow

In this step, you need to select the conditions that must be met for the flow to function correctly.

Note: This condition depends on the fields contained in the form. It is important to remember that, like in MDirector segments, each filter is cumulative, so it will look for leads that meet all the criteria you set.

Once the filters are added, it is advisable to perform the corresponding test to ensure that the conditions selected are recognized and applied correctly.

5. Finally, specify what you want MDirector to do with the contacts obtained from the connection

This means deciding if you want them added to a specific subaccount or list. Here, you need to select the form responses you want to be registered and in which contact fields they should be stored. Remember, if these are fields not included in MDirector's standard, you must have previously created them as Custom Fields in your account preferences.

Note: If you want the same landing page to be directed to more than one subaccount or list based on certain criteria, you will need to create a separate Zap for each case.
